I love giving gifts. I'm that person who studies the gift registry to figure out how I can create a few handmade custom moments and mesh them with a couple of items from the registry. I've also been known to study someone's public Pinterest page to get the vibe of their personal style to aid in my decision making process. So of course for a recent baby shower I had to hand stitch the baby's name on an adorable sweater from their registry. For this gift stack, I decided to purchase a few board books from the registry as well to complete the stack look that I love.
I'm a gift wrap type of gal. I looooove stationary and all of the beautiful florals that live on them. I pick up beautiful wrapping papers everywhere I shop so that I can curate the exact look I want when gifting. I also love to gift hand painted cards. They feel so personal and unique.
By adding personal handmade touches to purchased gifts from a registry, I am able to keep on budget and shop frugally while at the same time create something beautiful and unique. Gift stacks are beautiful and a joy to give and to receive. It's fun and exciting to work your way through a gift stack as a recipient, and they look so beautiful on a gift table or even sitting around your home until it's time to gift them. My mother gifted this way before she passed, and it always made me feel so special. I enjoy passing that on to others.
Here is a tutorial on how to paint a floral bouquet like the one in the picture above if you'd like to see how I did it. I hope you will give it a try!
